Sealy, Texas, is a small town just outside of Houston. It was the home of Daniel Haynes, a cotton gin builder, who began making cotton-filled mattresses for his friends and neighbors in 1881.
He went on to invent a machine that compressed cotton for use in mattresses, receiving a patent for his invention in 1889. His mattress became so popular that he sold patent rights to people in other markets, who also began building the product that, at the time, was known as the "Mattress from Sealy."
In 1950, Sealy introduced its first Sealy Posturepedic brand mattress, the only mattress in the industry that focused on the importance of correct back support.
Today, Sealy Corporation is the largest bedding manufacturer in the world. Sealy manufactures and markets a broad range of mattresses and foundations under the Sealy, Sealy Posturepedic, Stearns & Foster and Bassett brand names. Sealy has the largest market share and consumer awareness of any bedding brand in North America.

Comments about Sealy Crib Mattresses Baby Posturepedic Crown Jewel Crib Mattress:
Our baby has slept through the night since 6 weeks, which was when we switched her from bassinette to crib, so it must be comfortable! The only con is that it is difficult to change the sheets, but that is because it fits so snugly in the crib which is important for safety reasons.

Comments about Sealy Crib Mattresses Baby Posturepedic Crown Jewel Crib Mattress:
Looks like a very nice crib mattress; I would not hesitate to purchase again. Fits da Vinci Emily crib perfectly. Firm enough to provide excellent support (for SIDS prevention), but soft enough top layer that Jr should be able to sleep comfortably.

Comments about Sealy Crib Mattresses Baby Posturepedic Crown Jewel Crib Mattress:
I wanted to buy a good mattress that would hold up to use by my two GrandBabies. Gracie will be two years old next month and will be in this crib for at least another year or so as I convert it to a toddler bed. Then she'll sleep in a twin bed and Alice, who is 3 1/2 months now, will go in the crib and continue to use it until she outgrows the toddler/day bed. They are only here a few days a week with occassional sleepovers so I'm confident that this nice mattress will hold up beautifully. In fact I'd bet it would stay good as new if they used it full time! It seems that well made! It was moderately priced, not too cheap and not to expensive! I usually buy everything in the middle price range.[...]

Comments about Sealy Crib Mattresses Baby Posturepedic Crown Jewel Crib Mattress:
My baby had been a restless sleeper in the bassinet until he was 3 months old... once he started sleeping on this mattress in the crib he started sleeping through the night (I mean, 8-10 hours through the night!) within a few days. It's soft yet very supportive- enough that my husband wishes he could sleep on it!
Service and delivery comments:
The mattress was delivered quickly, and the cost was unbeatable considering it would have cost more to buy it directly from the Baby Depot and bring it home ourselves. The main reason we bought the mattress from CSN was the free shipping!

Comments about Sealy Crib Mattresses Baby Posturepedic Crown Jewel Crib Mattress:
This mattress is very comfortable - firm, but with soft layers under a vinyl top. Our son sleeps very well on the mattress, and the transition from bassinet to crib was an easy one. We like the "plush quilt laminate" and easy to clean surface - basically, we can skip the mattress pad and use only a sheet. My only problem is that the large, oval label shows up under the sheets (I think many mattresses are designed this way - why?) I wasn't sure if the mattress should be placed label side up or down - I called the company and was told to place the mattress label side up for crib, label side down for toddler/day bed. We are very happy with this purchase - it is a quality piece that we feel confident will last for our son and future children.
