About New Zealand Radiata Pine Wood:
Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. DaVinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

Was concerned about this crib because of comments about how the finish scratches easily. We were careful until the last piece when I crammed one side into the front by accident, NOT A EVEN A SMUDGE! Was so relieved! Nice looking piece of furniture, looks more expensive than it was. Pretty dark wood, looks just like the photos, not super dark like most "Espresso" finishes.

i still haven't used the crib, but it looks nice so far. it is very sturdy and wasn't difficult to assemble (once my hubby decided to look at the directions :) ). i would've given the product 5 stars but, as carefully as it was assembled, it still got a couple of small scratches but nothing too big. overall...pleased.

Not sure what people are talking about in some of their comments - joint assembly of this crib will not lead to divorce. Very easy to assemble (with someone else helping hold pieces), and the directions are as good as any other ready-to-assemble furniture. The crib is very stable and high-quality wood and stain. For the price on this website with their 20% coupons - can't beat it.

After researching a lot of cribs, I knew I wanted an affordable, inexpensive (yet expensive looking) crib. The BBB suggests IKEA cribs if you are on a budget, but they didn't have the dark wood I liked. I ended up getting the Davinci Kalani in Expresso and I love the way it looks. My husband & I assembled it and the instructions were pretty straight-forward and easy. After assembling it I knew I did good when my husband told me I had bought a beautiful crib. It is a lot sturdier than I expected, no wobbling at all! I especially like that it is a fixed rail and that the toddler rail comes with it.

Service and delivery comments:
The delivery was prompt and the crib arrived in good condition. There is a slight imperfection on one piece of wood, however, it is not noticeable. The customer service at CSN is great. I contacted them once I realized the crib went on sale within 30 days of our purchase and they credited our account with the difference. I contacted them in the morning and was replied back to within a few hours. Great service! I am very happy!

Not happy with this product or CSN. My 1yr old son was in bed when the mattress & metal support fell to the ground because the bolts pulled out of the wood. I bought two dressers that the face plates fall off when you open the drawers.

We really like the look and functionality of the crib, unfortunately it arrived with several machine bolts and barrel nuts missing. You can't get these at the hardware store - they are specific to the product. We tried to request more via the company's instructions online, but the website link was not allowing us to finalize the request. A letter to the company got no response at all. For the money, it's a good crib, but I would not buy a Million Dollar Baby product again, as they are not responsive to customers. For the record, we secured the crib with drywall screws and it is very sturdy now - but if my husband wasn't very handy with such things I would worry about the product's safety.
